We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Software Project Engineer to join our core team at ALFRED Maritime GmbH. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enabling a sustainable future for cruise vacations through the latest developments in data-driven AI solutions.

As a Software Project Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing installation projects for our IIoT and AI software solutions. You will work closely with our technical designers and experts to ensure seamless integration and handover training for our customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and managing installation projects for IIoT and AI software solutions
  • Reviewing technical drawings and specifications to prepare for projects
  • Installing and commissioning IIoT and AI software solutions on Ubuntu OS
  • Configuring external interfaces, including signal lists
  • Defining and scripting calculation formulas into the system
  • Setting up ship networks and cloud connectivity
  • Troubleshooting and providing feedback for improving configurability and new requirements
  • Providing handover training to the team onboard
  • Supporting customers locally and remotely in using the system

Requirements:

  • Software engineering education
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Good understanding of B2B software deployment, installation, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • 2-4 years of field experience in commissioning software/hardware solutions in the maritime sector
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills with ability to work in an international team
  • Good understanding and capability to build and modify computer software/scripts
  • Big bonus: Good understanding of various industry standard interfacing protocols
