Strategic Procurement Lead

IC Resources is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Global Commodity Manager to join our client, a leading innovator in the electronics industry.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape procurement strategies for critical components such as Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), complex cable assemblies, connectors, and semiconductors. You will play a pivotal role in driving cost optimization, ensuring quality standards, and streamlining delivery processes across the global supply chain.
Responsibilities:- Spearhead global sourcing initiatives for PCBs, complex cable assemblies, and connectors, leveraging your expertise to identify and secure the most advantageous suppliers.
- Develop and implement comprehensive commodity strategies that align with business objectives, focusing on cost reduction, quality enhancement, and timely delivery.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring a seamless procurement process.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to the procurement team, empowering them to develop their skills and contribute effectively to organizational success.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure technical requirements are clearly understood and incorporated into sourcing decisions.
- Prepare concise and insightful reports for senior management, providing updates on procurement activities, market trends, and supplier performance.
- Extensive experience within the electronics or semiconductor industries, ideally gained in an engineering environment.
- A proven track record of building and nurturing strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities, particularly when presenting to senior management audiences.
- A willingness to travel internationally, including regular trips to Japan, to engage with key suppliers.
