About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs and Trade Manager to join our team at KPMG. As a key member of our customs and trade practice, you will provide expert advice to clients on national and international tax and customs laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with national and international clients on customs, foreign trade, and export control issues, providing strategic guidance and support to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead various projects, including the implementation of compliance management systems in customs and export control, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery.
  • Advise clients on efficient organizational structures and processes, leveraging your expertise in customs and foreign trade laws to optimize their operations.
  • Handle corporate separations and mergers concerning customs and foreign trade implications, providing critical support to clients during complex transactions.
  • Manage customs audits conducted by customs authorities, ensuring that clients are well-prepared and compliant with all regulations.
  • Support clients in legal proceedings and compliance matters, providing expert testimony and guidance to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Conduct internal and external business development activities, such as presentations and publications, to promote KPMG's customs and trade services and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in European Business Law, International Law and Business, or Tax Law, with a strong understanding of customs and foreign trade laws.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs, foreign trade, and export control, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Expertise in customs, foreign trade, and export control laws, with the ability to analyze complex regulations and provide strategic guidance.
  • Previous experience in team leadership is a plus, with the ability to motivate and guide team members to achieve exceptional results.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Strong team orientation, client focus, and business development skills, with a willingness to travel and work in a fast-paced environment.
