Toshiba is seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Design Team Lead to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding and motivating a talented group of engineers while ensuring the successful design and implementation of electrical systems for our innovative locomotive projects.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Team Development and Management: Cultivate a positive and collaborative team environment, providing mentorship, coaching, and support to foster professional growth within the Electrical Design Team.
  • Technical Expertise: Leverage your in-depth knowledge of electrical design principles to provide expert guidance on circuit diagrams, bill of materials (BOM), component selection, and scripting.
  • System Integration: Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall vehicle design.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and resource allocation for the Electrical Design Team, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, overseeing quality control processes to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Administrative Oversight: Manage team administration tasks, including time reporting, travel approvals, and other essential functions.
  • Manufacturing and Commissioning Support: Serve as a key liaison between the Electrical Design Team and manufacturing and commissioning personnel, providing technical support to expedite necessary changes and ensure smooth operations.
Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a preference for railway-related experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant EU standards, norms, and safety requirements pertaining to electrical and safety design.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in system design of electrical installations, ideally within the railway sector.
  • Experience with the interface between converter and control systems is highly advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in requirements engineering and a deep understanding of systems thinking (V-model).
  • Exceptional ability to handle technical customer inquiries, resolve issues effectively, and manage external partners.
  • Proven experience in team leadership roles.
  • Fluency in German (minimum B2 level) and English (minimum B1 level).
