Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Design Team Lead to join our team at Toshiba. As a key member of our Electrical Design Team, you will be responsible for leading the team in the development of electrical design solutions for our locomotives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Electrical Design Team in the development of electrical design solutions for our locomotives.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve the efficiency of our electrical design processes.
  • Collaborate with other Toshiba design engineering teams to lead design engineering activities.
  • Manage and secure the required project schedule and milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant EU-standards, norms, and safety requirements in the area of electrical and safety design.
  • Develop and implement electrical design solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Manage external partners and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of electrical design solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Electrical Design Team.
  • Develop and implement training programs to improve the skills and knowledge of the Electrical Design Team.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in system design of electrical installations, ideally in the railway sector.
  • Experience with the interface between converter and control systems is a plus.
  • Profound knowledge in requirements engineering and pronounced systems understanding (V-model).
  • Ability to handle and manage customer inquiries of a technical nature combined with fast and effective problem solving.
  • Ability to manage external partners.
  • Experience in Team Leading.
  • Willingness to do business travel.
  • German (fluent, min. B2).
  • English (fluent, min. B1).
  • Teamwork.
  • Drive for result.
  • Systems understanding and conceptional thinking.
