Master Thesis: Sustainable CO2 Electroreduction with Molecular Catalysts

We are seeking a highly motivated Master's student to join our research team at the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. As part of our team, you will contribute to the development of sustainable solutions for a resource-efficient future.
Project OverviewThe conversion of CO2 into targeted energy carriers is a crucial process towards a defossilized and sustainable energy supply. Our research focuses on generating basic chemicals of the chemical industry from CO2 using electrocatalytic processes driven by sustainable energy. Your Master's thesis will focus on developing and characterizing molecular catalysts on heterogeneous electrode surfaces for the CO2 electroreduction.
Responsibilities- Synthesis and characterization of molecular electrocatalysts
- Electrode preparation: integration of the prepared catalysts into heterogeneous systems
- Planning and execution of experiments on CO2 electroreduction
- Preparation and presentation of research results
- Ongoing Master's degree in chemistry or related studies with completed Bachelor's degree
- Experience in scientific research
- Experience in (in-)organic synthesis and electrochemistry are desirable
- Very good knowledge of English
