Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps & Security Engineer to join our engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our AWS-based Kubernetes infrastructure to ensure high availability and peak performance of our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product. Additionally, you will develop and implement a robust security strategy focused on achieving ISO27001 certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Maintenance and Management:
    • Manage and maintain our AWS-based Kubernetes clusters.
    • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of services such as Keycloak, Dagster, Temporal, Snowflake, Airbyte, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and NGINX Ingress Controller.
    • Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of infrastructure.
    • Automate infrastructure tasks using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Develop and implement a security strategy aligned with ISO27001 standards.
    • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
    • Implement and manage security controls to protect data and infrastructure.
    • Lead the preparation and documentation for ISO27001 certification audits.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and best practices.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with development teams to integrate security best practices into the CI/CD pipeline.
    • Provide guidance and training on security policies and procedures.
    • Collaborate with third-party vendors and manage security-related aspects of third-party integrations.
  • Monitoring and Incident Response:
    • Implement and manage monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance.
    • Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and outages.
    • Develop and maintain incident response plans and conduct regular drills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in DevOps and infrastructure management, specifically with AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of ISO27001 standards and certification processes.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German is desirable.
Nice to Have
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), ISO27001 Lead Implementer, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Experience with other compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
