As a Senior Energy Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and implementing pioneering IoT energy management systems for fleets of small, distributed energy systems with advanced power functionality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement energy management systems for distributed energy systems, including power control, forecasting, and asset scheduling.
  • Develop system control and design modules for key assets such as cooling and heating, solar PV, and batteries.
  • Optimize energy tariffs and facilitate energy market access via external partners.
  • Lead the development of fast, cutting-edge energy system design processes for multi-site sustainability projects.
  • Act as a mentor and technical lead, promoting emerging technologies in automation, engineering, usability, and robustness.
  • Manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines, including DevOps practices, application packaging, and infrastructure automation.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in electrical/energy engineering, mechanical engineering, distributed energy systems, building management systems, control theory, automation, signal processing, or related fields.
  • Several years of professional experience in real-time data processing, modeling, and control automation of systems.
  • Experience in energy system design and techno-economic analysis.
  • Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language/framework within the energy management domain.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud and IoT technologies and microservice architecture.
  • Strong communication skills to bridge algorithm development and software development teams.
  • Passion for contributing to energy transition and decarbonization.
  • Curiosity about driving innovation and developing new business opportunities for Siemens.
