Senior Hardware Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Hardware Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions for energy storage systems. Your expertise in hardware development will play a crucial role in shaping the future of energy.

A Day in the Life

  • You will lead R&D tasks and sub-streams for electronics hardware development, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards.
  • With your experience in industrializing electronic goods, you will apply necessary standards to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • You will develop and maintain technical and project documents, as well as simulations to validate implementation.
  • As a Hardware Engineer, you will design electronic systems, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • You will support R&D, production, and maintenance in BMS-related topics and hardware design for high-voltage applications.
  • You will coordinate and integrate hardware activities in projects, analyzing test and field data to inform further development.
  • You will contribute to the improvement of current and development of next-generation Siemens Energy battery storage systems.

What We Are Looking For

  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (other fields considered).
  • Long-term professional work experience in designing Power Systems for utility installations, PV plants, Battery Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Profound knowledge of hardware development from prototype to SOP.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulations used in the EMEA Region.
  • Intercultural experience and motivation to work with a multicultural team.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, with a self-organized approach to working in an intercultural environment.
  • Long-term experience with large storage systems and knowledge in Battery Management System Hardware, as well as exposure to Embedded Linux Controllers is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, with German skills being a plus.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary of approximately €85,000 - €110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for growth and professional development.
