About the Role

Xylem Water Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Indirect Tax Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our global tax strategy team, you will play a crucial role in providing indirect tax advice to various business groups and ensuring the company's compliance with VAT regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage VAT Compliance: Oversee the company's VAT compliance processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and payment of VAT.
  • Intercompany Interactions: Manage intercompany interactions in regard to VAT, ensuring seamless communication and coordination between teams.
  • VAT Tax Audits: Coordinate VAT compliance and ensure the efficiency of VAT tax audits, minimizing risks and ensuring compliance.
  • Supply Chain Management: Ensure VAT efficiency of supply chain management, working closely with operations and logistics teams to optimize VAT compliance.
  • Tax Planning: Take a proactive approach to VAT planning, delivering VAT advice to various business groups and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Indirect Tax Risks: Engage with senior management and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential indirect tax risks, ensuring the company's compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Indirect Tax Strategy: Develop a coherent and proactive indirect tax strategy, ensuring the company's VAT expertise is up-to-date and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Center of Excellence: Act as a center of excellence within Xylem Water Solutions for indirect tax issues, providing technical assistance and education to finance teams on VAT matters.
  • VAT Documentation: Ensure VAT rules and documentation are incorporated into the company's procedures, ensuring compliance and minimizing risks.
  • Professional Network: Maintain strong relationships with external tax consultants and other professional associates, exchanging tax information and best practices.
Requirements
  • Experience: 4+ years of tax or indirect tax experience, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or customs environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent apprenticeship (Germany, Ausbildung) ideally in combination with a tax degree/certification.
  • Skills: Experience with European statutory and GAAP (IFRS) reporting, VAT reporting standards, and FAS 5, among others.
  • Language: Business fluent English, German would be great, additional languages nice to have.
