Xylem Water Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Indirect Tax Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our global tax strategy team, you will play a crucial role in providing indirect tax advice to various business groups and ensuring the company's compliance with VAT regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage VAT Compliance: Oversee the company's VAT compliance processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in VAT reporting and tax audits.
- Intercompany VAT Interactions: Coordinate with internal stakeholders to manage intercompany VAT interactions, ensuring seamless communication and compliance.
- VAT Tax Audits: Coordinate VAT compliance and ensure the efficiency of VAT tax audits, minimizing risks and ensuring compliance.
- VAT Efficiency in Supply Chain Management: Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure VAT efficiency in supply chain management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Proactive VAT Planning: Take a proactive approach to VAT planning, delivering VAT advice to various business groups and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Indirect Tax Risk Management: Engage with senior stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential indirect tax risks, ensuring the company's compliance with VAT regulations.
- Indirect Tax Strategy: Develop a coherent and proactive indirect tax strategy, ensuring the company's VAT expertise is up-to-date and aligned with industry best practices.
- Center of Excellence: Act as a center of excellence for indirect tax issues, providing technical assistance and education to finance teams on VAT matters.
- VAT Documentation: Ensure VAT rules and documentation are incorporated into the company's procedures, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Professional Network: Maintain strong relationships with external tax consultants and other professional associates, exchanging tax information and best practices.
- 4+ Years of Tax/Indirect Tax Experience: Proven experience in tax or indirect tax, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or customs environment.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent apprenticeship (Germany, Ausbildung) ideally in combination with a tax degree/certification.
- European Statutory and GAAP Reporting: Experience with European statutory and GAAP (IFRS) reporting, including VAT reporting standards and FAS 5.
- Complex Multinational Environment: Experience working in a complex, US multinational environment, with a strong understanding of VAT regulations and compliance.
- Language Skills: Business fluent English, German would be great, additional languages nice to have.
