Job Title: Microsoft Server Infrastructure Administrator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Server Infrastructure Administrator to join our team at Universität Hamburg. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, provisioning, and operating our Microsoft server infrastructure and Active Directory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and operate Microsoft server infrastructure and Active Directory
- Automate server operation and Active Directory with PowerShell
- Take measures to increase security, availability, and operational optimization of server operations
- Configure and commission hardware (mainly Dell PowerEdge servers)
- Analyze and resolve malfunctions, track security incidents
- Create and maintain documentation
- 3rd-level support for the RRZ Service Desk in the Microsoft server area
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- or equivalent skills and experience e.g. a completed (IT or similar) vocational training with many years of relevant professional experience
- Relevant professional experience will be assessed during the recruitment process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and Active Directory
- Proficient in the PowerShell programming language
- Experience in operating large server and Active Directory infrastructures
- Knowledge in configuring hardware servers, preferably Dell PowerEdge
- Very good German and good English language skills in both written and spoken forms
- Good understanding of English technical literature
- High degree of independence and sense of responsibility
- Teamwork and customer-oriented behavior towards clients
