Strategic Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of purchasers with different focus areas, driving strategic and operational management to optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Develop and implement supplier strategies, identifying and developing new suppliers to enhance the product portfolio.
  • Analyze market trends, derive options for action, and negotiate framework agreements to achieve cost reduction and efficiency.
  • Monitor supplier performance, track measurable KPIs, and support team members in day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborate with project management and R&D on new product projects, ensuring supplier goals for delivery, cost, and quality are met.
  • Oversee the ongoing monitoring and support of suppliers regarding environmental, social, and governance aspects.

Requirements:

  • Completed studies in industrial engineering, business administration, logistics, or comparable fields, with specialized further training.
  • Extensive professional experience in purchasing, both nationally and internationally, with first experiences in disciplinary management.
  • Expertise in strategic and operational collaboration with suppliers and partners in Asia and Eastern Europe.
  • Social skills, team-orientation, ability to work under pressure, assertiveness, and strong negotiating and communication skills.
  • Goal- and results-orientated work style, analytical thinking, and experience in lean management.
  • Advanced SAP/CRM knowledge and confident handling of MS Office, with business fluency in German and English.
  • Willingness to travel.
