About the Role

Mace is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead our project controls team. As a key member of our consult business, you will be responsible for the direction and coordination of all project controls activities within safety, quality, time, and cost milestones for a specific area/scope of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of an overall integrated plan and budget for the project
  • Establish effective and fully transparent reporting and controls across the whole project
  • Advocate for Mace's value of safety first and maintain exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards
  • Champion a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people you manage
  • Lead the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives
  • Ensure projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored
  • Apply specific planning/scheduling methods, techniques, and tools
  • Advise on complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively
  • Manage planning/scheduling delivery of medium/high complexity projects/programmes
  • Play a key role in multidisciplinary teams and take lead role in creating plans or analysing trends using numerical and statistical techniques
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals delivering planning/schedule management services and responsible for staff development
  • Mastery in setting up effective planning/schedule management systems & procedures
  • Expert knowledge of schedule management tools & software
  • Manage resourcing, growing & developing the team
  • Manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcomes
  • Support to senior management in deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence & other business development or alliance development projects
  • Excellent attention to detail & able to validate & check schedule management inputs, recording & reports produced, providing basic commentary & analysis
  • Looking to future to create a vision and set strategy

Requirements
  • Exposure of working as a Primavera P6 project planner on large scale construction projects ideally for a tier 1 contractor or a client side consultancy
  • A construction related degree (civil/structural engineering, or construction/project management or equivalent)
  • Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams
  • Experience of working on large projects/programmes
  • A construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace have to offer
  • Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on
