Senior Cloud Software Development Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned cloud software development engineer to join our Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH - R28 team. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative cloud-based solutions that enhance the developer experience on AWS.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing, software development, and architecture. You will work closely with our team to create new architectures, find innovative solutions, and coach and grow engineers around you.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing cloud-based solutions that meet business requirements
  • Collaborating with internal engineering teams, leading technology companies, and the open source community
  • Leading cross-team projects and ensuring technical blockers are resolved
  • Developing cloud-based solutions that delight software developers and system administrators globally

About the team:

You will be part of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Next Gen DevX (NGDE) team, where we are using generative AI and foundation models to reimagine the experience of all builders on AWS. We are looking for someone who is passionate about cloud computing, software development, and architecture, and who is excited about working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Basic qualifications include:

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
  • Experience leading the architecture and design of new and current systems
  • Experience in professional, non-internship software development
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language, including object-oriented design

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience in the AI/ML space
