PhD Position in Computational Biology

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our team at the Max Delbruck Center (MDC) in Berlin, Germany. The successful candidate will work on developing new algorithms to infer cellular differentiation trajectories in the developing embryo from time-resolved single-cell RNA, spatial transcriptomics, and lineage tracing data.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement new computational methods to analyze single-cell RNA and spatial transcriptomics data
- Collaborate with experimental collaborators to design and execute experiments
- Analyze and compare synthetic organoid development with in vivo embryonic development
- Work closely with data scientists and computational biologists to integrate data from various sources
- Contribute to the development of a highly interdisciplinary team
- MSc degree in computational or natural sciences
- Strong computational or quantitative focus (computational biology, bioinformatics, mathematics, or a related field)
- Excellent programming skills (Python, R) and experience with machine learning methods
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- International working environment with communication in English and German
