Computational Postdoctoral Researcher in Developmental Biology

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Computational Postdoc in Developmental Biology to join our team at the Max Delbrück Center (MDC) in Berlin, Germany.
Key Responsibilities- Develop novel algorithms to infer cellular and tissue-wide differentiation trajectories from single-cell multiome (RNA + ATAC), spatial transcriptomics, and lineage tracing data.
- Apply machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to decipher the evolutionary highly-conserved regulatory code underlying mammalian organogenesis.
- Compare early mouse embryonic development with various other species, including human, fish, bird, and non-vertebrates.
- Analyze and compare synthetic organoid development with in vivo embryonic development.
- Collaborate closely with experimental researchers.
- Contribute to a highly interdisciplinary team involving data scientists, computational biologists, and experimental biologists.
- PhD (or MSc degree with several years of working experience) in computational or natural sciences with a strong computational or quantitative focus.
- Strong programming skills in Python and R are essential; experience in building efficient and reusable software is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate frequent exchange with group members and scientific collaborators, as well as the ability to work independently.
- Solid statistical knowledge and experience with state-of-the-art machine learning methods.
- Ability to work independently and undertake challenging analysis tasks.
