Student Assistant in Regulatory Strategy

Eurex Frankfurt AG serves as the administrative and operational body of the Eurex Deutschland derivatives exchange. This exchange provides a diverse array of international benchmark products, including a comprehensive selection of equity index derivatives, the most liquid fixed-income markets globally, and is recognized as the preferred platform for European equity derivatives, offering open and cost-effective electronic access. Additionally, Eurex Deutschland encompasses dividend, ETF, and volatility derivatives.
Your area of work
If you have a keen interest in derivatives markets and are curious about the intersection of business and regulation, you are in the right place. The Regulatory Strategy team at Eurex is tasked with managing the growing number of regulations affecting the derivatives exchange and navigating the complexities to ensure commercial success. This involves developing strategic responses to various legislative proposals in close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. Topics such as financial market regulations, sustainable finance, and crypto markets are discussed and aligned with Eurex's decision-making areas, as well as with market participants, industry associations, and regulatory bodies. The team employs a range of qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess regulations, impacted markets, products, and participants. A significant aspect of this role includes providing regulatory guidance and decision-making materials for Eurex board members and facilitating alignment at the DBG level. Furthermore, representing Eurex at international industry associations and market participant committees, along with supporting outreach to regulatory and legislative stakeholders, is integral to the team's advocacy and educational efforts.
Your responsibilities:
- Conduct research on financial market regulation topics and monitor consultations for advocacy while assisting in the development of positioning strategies.
- Perform market and competitive analyses in derivatives markets to support various strategic initiatives and projects within the team and Eurex.
- Assist in preparing presentations and documentation for various Eurex committees and executive board decision-making processes.
- Support administrative and organizational tasks in coordination with various departments.
Your profile:
- You are currently enrolled in an academic program, preferably in business administration, economics, finance, derivatives risk management, or microstructural analysis.
- You have completed at least the first year of your university studies.
- You possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, is essential; programming skills are a plus.
- You are fluent in both written and spoken German and English.
