Safety Field Investigator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Field Investigator to join our team at Hyundai. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating related Hyundai groups aimed at identifying and resolving vehicle safety items.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate related Hyundai groups to identify and resolve vehicle safety items
- Develop innovative analytical approaches to detect potential vehicle safety issues
- Monitor results, effectiveness, and promotion of engineer-led examinations of consumer complaint data, field reports, legal cases, supplier information, dealer reports, plant information, other safety recalls, compliance, and consumer metric testing
- Conduct internal thorough data-driven investigations to determine the severity of the occurrence of the issue, the root cause, the number of vehicles affected, and all probable corrective actions related to the issue
- Track and manage identified issues based on assigned vehicle component responsibilities throughout the complete field fix cycle
- Monitor field status and coordinate vehicle and part investigations
- Conduct field inspections of post-event vehicles or in-service vehicles at dealerships or alternate locations, if necessary
- Participate in vehicle safety forums, technical conferences, meetings, panels, etc., and internally disseminate the knowledge gained
- Work with related Hyundai groups to identify potential anomalies in field fix performance and trigger immediate deep-dive analysis
- Review periodically the field information on component and subsystem functionality with a focus on safety and derive all required action plans
- Ensure close monitoring of dealer systems, customer satisfaction surveys, warranty case documentation, product liability cases (fire, airbag, property damage)
- University Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience within Quality or Safety in the Automotive Industry
- General automotive technical knowledge (e.g., body, chassis, brakes, electrical, safety systems)
- High level of authority to self-check and ensure accuracy when analyzing high volumes of data
- Ability to judge independently and understand how various factors and trends can impact business decision-making
- Ability to proactively collaborate with peers, vehicle component experts, and leadership within the organization
- Ability to present to and manage stakeholders
- Must be able to travel periodically
- Desire to work for a fast-paced, multi-cultural, and result-oriented company
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Korean highly preferred
