Safety Investigator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Field Investigator to join our team at Hyundai. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating related Hyundai groups to identify and resolve vehicle safety items, and liaising with all other Hyundai teams involved in these activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate related Hyundai groups to identify and resolve vehicle safety items
- Identify and develop innovative analytical approaches to detect potential vehicle safety issues
- Actively monitor results, effectiveness, and promotion of engineer-led examinations of consumer complaint data, field reports, legal cases, supplier information, dealer reports, plant information, other safety recalls, compliance and consumer metric testing, Rapex, or other authorities data and outliers in warranty data
- Conduct an internal thorough data-driven, but timely, investigation to determine the severity of the occurrence of the issue, the root cause, the number of vehicles affected, the ability of consumers to detect the issue and all probable corrective actions related to this issue
- Actively track and manage identified issues based on assigned vehicle component responsibilities throughout complete field fix cycle
- Monitor field status and coordinate vehicle and part investigations
- Conduct field inspections of post-event vehicles or in-service vehicles at dealerships or alternate locations, if necessary
- Participate in vehicle safety forums, technical conferences, meetings, panels, etc. and internally disseminate the knowledge gained
- Work with the related Hyundai groups to identify potential anomalies in field fix performance and trigger immediately the related deep-dive analysis
- Review periodically the field information on component and subsystem functionality with focus on safety and derive all required action plans
- Ensure a close monitoring of: Dealer systems, Customer Satisfaction Surveys, Warranty case documentation, Product liability cases (fire, airbag, property damage)
- University Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience within Quality or Safety in the Automotive Industry
- General automotive technical knowledge (Ex: body, chassis, brakes, electrical, safety systems)
- High level of authority to self-check and ensure accuracy when analyzing high volumes of data
- Ability to judge independently and understand how various factors and trends can impact business decision-making
- Ability to proactively collaborate with peers, vehicle component experts, and leadership within the organization
- Ability to present to and manage stakeholders
- Must be able to travel periodically
- Desire to work for a fast-paced, multi-cultural and result-oriented company
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Korean highly preferred
