Bioinformatics Software Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Software Engineer to join our team at Barrington James. As a key member of our bioinformatics team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge bioinformatics pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and staying current with the latest advancements in data science and infectious disease research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop bioinformatics pipelines to ensure data integrity and accessibility
  • Collaborate with biologists, immunologists, and clinical researchers to design and execute data-driven studies
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, infectious disease research, and immunotherapy
  • Develop and maintain bioinformatics software applications using Python and relevant libraries
  • Work with large datasets and data visualization tools to identify statistical patterns and trends
  • Communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field
  • Extended experience in developing and running bioinformatics pipelines with workflow orchestration tools
  • Proven experience in biological data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning
  • Proficiency in Python programming, with experience using libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow/PyTorch
  • Experience working with large datasets and data visualization tools
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
