About the Role

The Electrical Metrologist will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of electrical measurements within our organization. This position involves calibration, testing, and maintenance of electrical measurement equipment, as well as managing the DAkkS accreditation process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calibration and Verification: Perform calibration and verification of electrical measurement instruments (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers) according to established procedures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot electrical measurement equipment to ensure accurate and consistent results.
  • Calibration Scheduling: Develop and implement calibration schedules to meet DAkkS accreditation requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain calibration documentation, including certificates and reports.
  • Collaboration and Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance and compliance teams to ensure adherence to standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency Testing and Inter-Laboratory Comparisons: Participate in proficiency testing and inter-laboratory comparisons.
  • Uncertainty Analysis and Measurement Uncertainty Budgets: Conduct uncertainty analysis and contribute to measurement uncertainty budgets.
  • DAkkS Accreditation Management: Manage the DAkkS accreditation process, including documentation, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Industry Trends and Best Practices: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and changes in metrology standards.
  • Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor junior metrology staff.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives related to metrology processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical metrology.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in using calibration software and measurement tools, knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and DAkkS accreditation requirements, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
  • Desirable Qualification: DAkkS accreditation as a calibration laboratory technician.
Working Environment

The Electrical Metrologist will work in a laboratory setting, collaborating with engineers, technicians, and quality professionals. The role may involve 20% - 30% travel for audits and training.
