The Electrical Metrologist will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of electrical measurements within our organization. This position involves calibration, testing, and maintenance of electrical measurement equipment, as well as managing the DAkkS accreditation process.
Key Responsibilities- Calibration and Verification: Perform calibration and verification of electrical measurement instruments (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers) according to established procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot electrical measurement equipment to ensure accurate and consistent results.
- Calibration Scheduling: Develop and implement calibration schedules to meet DAkkS accreditation requirements.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain calibration documentation, including certificates and reports.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with quality assurance and compliance teams to ensure adherence to standards and regulations.
- Proficiency Testing: Participate in proficiency testing and inter-laboratory comparisons.
- Uncertainty Analysis: Conduct uncertainty analysis and contribute to measurement uncertainty budgets.
- Accreditation Management: Manage the DAkkS accreditation process, including documentation, audits, and corrective actions.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and changes in metrology standards.
- Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor junior metrology staff.
- Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives related to metrology processes.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical metrology.
- Skills: Proficiency in using calibration software and measurement tools.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and DAkkS accreditation requirements.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
- DAkkS Accreditation: DAkkS accreditation as a calibration laboratory technician (desired).
