Job Title: Research Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Research Assistant to join our interdisciplinary research project at Universität Heidelberg. The successful candidate will be part of the subproject "Home Data: Research Infrastructure and Multilingual Modeling" and will contribute to the development of a research infrastructure and the creation of a home-lexicon.

Your Tasks:
  • Conduct research in linguistics or translation studies, focusing on lexical semantics and corpus linguistics with a focus on German, English, and Slavic languages.
  • Collaborate in the development of annotation categories for the research of semantic-pragmatic phenomena in home-related texts.
  • Guide annotation groups and monitor annotation quality.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative-statistical analysis of semantic-pragmatic phenomena in home-related texts.
  • Contribute to the research and publication activities of the project and the conception and organization of scientific events.
  • Collaborate in the creation of the CRC's home-lexicon.
Your Profile:
  • Completed M.A. degree in linguistics or translation studies with a focus on Slavic languages.
  • Very good knowledge of German and English.
  • Very good knowledge of at least one of the three languages Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian.
  • Competence and experience in corpus linguistics and statistical methods in linguistic or translation science research are a great advantage.
  • Experience of working on large research projects is an advantage.
