Cloud Computing Specialist for EOSC Beyond

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Computing Specialist to join our team at DESY, a leading research centre in Hamburg, Germany.
As a key member of our Information Technology group, you will contribute to the development of advanced scientific services for the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) project, EOSC Beyond.
Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with scientific communities to identify services and software that will be offered by the German cloud node within the EOSC.
You will also contribute to the overall design and architecture of the German node, implement solutions to integrate existing or new software, and participate in regular project meetings, workshops, and conferences across Europe.
About You- You have a master's degree or PhD in computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge.
- You are passionate about designing and building infrastructure that enables scientists across Europe to access essential cloud services effortlessly.
- You have knowledge of web technologies, such as Rest APIs, OpenID-connect, web frameworks, or similar.
- Your experience with cloud infrastructures, such as Kubernetes, Openstack, containerisation, is an advantage.
- You are a communicative team player who enjoys working in large international teams and is open to travel.
- Your previous experience in large-scale projects involving geographically dispersed teams will be an asset.
- You have a good spoken and written command of the English language.
