Internal Controls Specialist Europe
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Internal Controls Specialist to join our team in Europe. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for reviewing and appraising the soundness, effectiveness, and proper application of accounting and financial controls, compliance procedures, and controls within the European region of JELD-WEN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Annual Internal Business Control testing and compliance cycle, working with Business and Internal Audit to ensure compliance with timetables, escalating issues or roadblocks in a timely manner.
- Review Business Controls to identify and suggest improvements or simplifications, to ensure controls are appropriate and relevant for the business.
- Support development of new or updated Internal Business Controls as JELD-WEN Europe evolves and when any new systems or processes are implemented.
- Work with Countries/Functions to identify and implement remediation plans.
- Educate and coach internal business and operational personnel in JELD-WEN Europe on roles and responsibilities as related to internal controls.
Requirements:
- 2 Years experience in Accounting / Internal Controls with similar sized multi-site / multi-country organisations.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (training can be provided, however an eagerness to develop SOX skills is essential).
- Full understanding and experience of documenting processes and controls and assessing financial risks.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and a thorough understanding of financial statements.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to communicate technical matters in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Ability to work independently, as well as within/across diverse multi-country teams, in finance and with the broader business.
