About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at METRO Markets GmbH. As a Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our tax strategies and ensuring compliance with VAT regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive tax advice to our e-commerce operations, focusing on VAT considerations and general tax counsel.
• Forge strong partnerships with METRO AG's tax department and affiliated METRO companies' tax units.
• Work autonomously, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to align tax strategies with operational objectives.
• Make informed decisions, take ownership, and effectively steer projects towards successful outcomes.
• Evaluate business risk and understand the risk-reward ratio, as well as situational and relationship-based thinking and actions.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of professional experience in a tax department, with a focus on VAT.
• Strong expertise in national and international VAT governance.
• Strong expertise in international tax law.
• Ability to break down complex matters and communicate well to various internal and external audiences.
• Completed degree in economics or law, with a focus on taxation.
• Structured, independent, and reliable way of working.
• Proven team player who enjoys working in a dynamic environment.
• Fluent level in English and German, with any additional languages beneficial.
