Job Description

The Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI is seeking a highly motivated Master's student to join our team in Erfurt, Germany. As a research assistant, you will be working on a project that focuses on the investigation of nanoparticle uptake in human tissue cells using organ-on-chip technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Cultivate eukaryotic cells derived from human tissue under conditions that mimic the tissue microenvironment.
  • Apply flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy to detect nanoparticle invasion.
  • Use cell staining to distinguish between different cell types.
  • Establish cultivation systems for organ-on-chip technologies to produce complex 3D spheroids and barrier models.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in biosciences or a related field.
  • Practical experience in basic molecular biology techniques, microscopy, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of mammalian cell culture is desirable but not a prerequisite.
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English.
