Job Description

The Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI is seeking a highly motivated Master's student to work on a thesis project in the field of cell biology and analysis. The project involves investigating the specific uptake of nanoparticles in human tissue cells using advanced technologies for biological and biochemical analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Cultivate eukaryotic cells derived from human tissue under conditions that mimic the tissue microenvironment.
  • Apply flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy to detect nanoparticle invasion.
  • Use cell staining to distinguish between different cell types.
  • Establish cultivation systems for organ-on-chip technologies to produce complex 3D spheroids and barrier models.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in biosciences or a related field.
  • Practical experience in basic molecular biology techniques, microscopy, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of mammalian cell culture is desirable but not a prerequisite.
  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
