Electron Microscope Field Service Engineer

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a skilled Electron Microscope Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Materials and Structural Analysis Division, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of complex electron microscopy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electron microscopes and associated options.
  • Provide on-site training to customers on maintenance and basic operation of the equipment.
  • Manage local spare parts inventory and dispatch third-party service providers as needed.
  • Monitor customer contracts and schedule on-site PM visits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of service support documentation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field (engineering or physics).
  • 5+ years of service experience in a related scientific, technical, and/or customer-facing role.
  • Strong proficiency in instrument systems technology, including electrical, mechanical, chemical, and software technology.
  • Experience with electronics, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Fluent in English and preferably German.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30% depending on place of residence.
