We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical System Engineer to join our team at Large Space Structures GmbH. As a Mechanical System Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of space-related antenna systems, working closely with cross-discipline teams to design, analyze, manufacture, test, and deliver complex systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in system engineering or a related field, with experience in structural mechanics, structural design, thermal analysis, mechanical testing, and electronics. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance and leadership on assigned projects, meeting technical and schedule requirements, and improving all aspects of the technical team working environment.

Key responsibilities will include providing end-to-end technical support for space antennas, managing and participating in the System team for projects in all phases, and providing expert technical support and consultancy to customer-funded projects, programmes, and general studies in system engineering for in-orbit systems throughout all project phases.

Requirements for the role include a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a similar qualification, at least 5 years' professional experience in a design engineering role in the space/aerospace industry, and experience with all phases of the system Life-Cycle for space-related antenna systems.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide end-to-end technical support for space antennas
  • Manage and participate in the System team for projects in all phases
  • Provide expert technical support and consultancy to customer-funded projects, programmes, and general studies in system engineering for in-orbit systems throughout all project phases
  • Participate in feasibility studies, project reviews, and evaluations of procurement proposals
  • Initiate and manage R&D activities covering long- and short-term needs in deployable antenna systems
