RINA is seeking a highly skilled Marine Senior Surveyor to join its team in Hamburg, Germany. As a seasoned professional, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of maritime rules, regulations, and industry concepts.
- Conduct routine surveys on classed ships, platforms, or marine structures to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements.
- Prepare technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys.
- Maintain survey files in an organized and up-to-date manner.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate various phases of surveying work.
- Monitor the quality of service, providing leadership and guidance to lower-level and less experienced surveyors.
- Engage with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to lower-level and less experienced surveyors.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the skills and knowledge of the surveying team.
- Monitor work and projects performed by subordinate surveyors, ensuring the maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed.
- Recommend new approaches to problems encountered and initiate changes in working methods and procedures as necessary.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Naval Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years experience working as a Surveyor.
- Understanding of RINA strategic technical positioning in the sector of the marine industry or minimum 7 years' experience in the engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society.
- Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions.
- Ability to understand engineering plans and have a knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations.
- Ability to perform new building surveys and ship in service surveys.
- Knowledge of ship engineering systems and machinery.
- Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.
- Knowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work.
