Data Center Chief Engineer

A100 ROW GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Chief Engineer to join our team in Frankfurt. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, with experience in data center operations and maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our data center, including the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment. This will involve working closely with our engineering team to identify and resolve any issues that may arise.

The Data Center Chief Engineer will also be responsible for implementing and executing site-specific training exercises for our engineering team, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in our data centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train and support engineering team in electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations
  • Implementation and execution of site-specific training exercises
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Operate independently with limited direct management
  • Assist in the design and build-out of new facilities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Indepth knowledge of UPS, backup generator systems and generic mechanical room infrastructure
  • Competent in use of basic IT programs such as MS Word/Excel or similar
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in operations and on-call support for data center facilities or mission critical plants/production facilities
  • Project management experience
  • Certifications/Accreditations that will be viewed positively: PMP; Prince2; ITIL v2/3; BICSI; ASHRAE, CDCP/S/E or equivalent
