The Universität Kassel is seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join its Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on a DFG project focused on piled rafts under cyclic horizontal loading.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's or Diploma degree in civil engineering and excellent knowledge of geotechnical engineering. Experience in conducting and evaluating soil mechanical laboratory tests, as well as numerical simulations with the finite element method, is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Participation in the DFG project, including conduction of small-scale model tests, soil mechanical laboratory tests, and numerical simulations

Requirements:

  • Master's or Diploma degree in civil engineering
  • Excellent knowledge of geotechnical engineering
  • Experience in conducting and evaluating soil mechanical laboratory tests
  • Knowledge of numerical methods in geotechnical engineering, including the finite element method

Advantageous qualifications include:

  • Good knowledge of German
  • High motivation, independent working style, and sense of responsibility
  • Experience in conducting and evaluating model tests
