Boiler Machinery Consultant

Job Summary:

This is a full-time position as a consulting expert for pressure equipment, accountable for providing consulting activities, inspections, and technical expertise to assigned customers and prospects.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect boilers and pressure vessels to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Witness pressure tests as required by the jurisdiction.
  • Inspect assigned field or shop locations to meet ASME or National Board Code, as required.
  • Report inspection results, including nonconforming conditions, in the manner prescribed by the jurisdiction and/or the inspector's supervisor.
  • Perform loss control inspections when assigned to comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other types of inspections to meet specified codes or standards, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Manage all aspects of assigned duties to meet governing codes, jurisdiction, company procedures, and policies.
  • Participate in providing solutions to problems that do not comply with regulating codes or standards, as requested by the managing supervisor, code supervisor, or customer.
  • Present and document concise engineering evaluations and reports as required.
  • Report to the district manager, code supervisor, or manager of engineering, as applicable, in any situation that does not comply with regulating codes or company procedures.
  • Assist in providing engineering solutions and strategies for the solicitation or development of new business.
  • Comply with all company policy and procedures, as applicable.
