Your Responsibilities
- As a member of our Legal Financial Services Banking Team, you will provide counsel to national and international banks, financial service providers, and payment institutions. You will also support the legal departments of regulated entities in daily operational matters and serve as a legal advisor for various departmental projects.
- Additionally, you will represent our clients before regulatory authorities such as the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, the German Bundesbank, the European Central Bank, and the relevant deposit protection schemes.
- You will assist companies in obtaining necessary licenses from regulatory bodies and work alongside KPMG AG's auditing experts on transitioning from unregulated to regulated entities, guiding them from inception to operational launch post-licensing.
- Moreover, you will advise clients on structuring unregulated processes or products, collaborating with our colleagues from the international KPMG network on cross-border issues.
- As part of a team of practicing attorneys, you will counsel our national and international clientele on all aspects of banking regulatory law and, when necessary, support KPMG AG's auditors and consultants with legal inquiries related to audit or consulting engagements.
- Furthermore, you will work closely with various experts from KPMG AG on projects to provide comprehensive advisory services to our clients.
- You possess qualified legal knowledge, evidenced by relevant state examinations.
- You have several years of professional experience in a commercial law firm, ideally with an international focus, or in a legal department of a regulated institution.
- You have excellent English language skills.
- A doctorate or LL.M., along with a solid foundational knowledge in finance and accounting, is advantageous.
- You demonstrate strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and value entrepreneurial thinking, independent action, and teamwork alongside your legal work.
