Job Title: Senior Mechanism Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanism Engineer to join our team at OHB System AG in Oberpfaffenhofen. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanisms and control systems for space applications.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and analyze technical specifications for mechanisms and control systems
  • Develop design concepts and coordinate with other engineering disciplines
  • Lead and support internal and subcontractor meetings, offers, and cost estimates
  • Monitor compliance to technical requirements, budgets, and specifications
  • Participate in planning of manufacturing, assembly, and testing of mechanisms and mechatronic systems
  • Anticipate and resolve non-compliant disruptions or unexpected problems
  • Develop and improve design processes and tools
  • Flow down technical requirements and budgets to mechatronic subsystems
  • Select mechanical and mechatronic components
  • Evaluate external subcontractor proposals and identify, select, and monitor subcontractors
  • Report to the customer and project team
Your Qualifications:
  • University degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, aerospace engineering, or comparable qualification
  • Long-time professional experience in space mechanisms
  • Sound knowledge in mechanisms technologies with expertise in conceptual modeling and simulation
  • Expertise in Vacuum- and/or Space-Tribology
  • Experience with relevant design and quality guidelines and standards (ECSS-E/Q)
  • Experience in management and monitoring of subcontractors
  • Very good communication skills and conflict resolution skills
  • Well-structured way of working
  • Good knowledge in technical leadership of employees
