Train Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Train Architect to join our team at Siemens Mobility GmbH. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing new vehicle concepts and vehicle platforms with a focus on standardized, manufacturing, and life cycle cost-optimized vehicle architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new vehicle concepts and vehicle platforms with a focus on standardized, manufacturing, and life cycle cost-optimized vehicle architectures.
• Drive the technical and functional maintenance and further develop existing vehicle platforms in coordination with the platform management.
• Ensure the use of the platform solution portfolio within the scope of bid preparation and project management of adaptation projects.
• Support the Technical Bid Manager and the Technical Manager in bids, projects, and in the processing of R&D projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, platform management, sales, purchasing, manufacturing, and commissioning.
• Engage with customers to compare their requirements with our standardized solutions.

Requirements

• Master's degree in rail vehicle technology, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
• Many years of professional experience in rail vehicle construction and engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of the interaction of the individual trades in the vehicle as an entity and operational requirements of rail vehicles.
• Experience in coordinating with international, cross-site teams and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Project management skills and ability to work in a field with distributed responsibilities.
• Business fluent German and English skills.
