We are a leading German pharmaceutical company in family ownership, developing, producing, and distributing medicines primarily for the European market. Our expertise lies in the areas of epilepsy and Parkinson's disease, offering nearly all WHO-essential anticonvulsants. In Germany, over 150,000 epilepsy patients are treated with Desitin medicines, more than any other pharmaceutical company. We also focus on rare diseases and complement our portfolio with established over-the-counter products from pharmacies.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced accounting professional to join our team as an Accounting Manager (m/w/d). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts, in accordance with German GAAP and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Coordinate the preparation of financial statements with international subsidiaries and internal departments
- Review, verify, and record provisions and contingent liabilities
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Support and monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting
- Control and manage the accounts payable process
- Prepare documentation for the annual financial statements
- Participate in digitalization projects, such as ERV
- Perform ad-hoc analyses and provide recommendations
- Completed commercial education (preferably with a certification as a certified accountant) or a degree in business administration
- Experience in accounting, preferably in a similar role
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in financial and management accounting
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Office
- Independent, process-oriented, analytical, and communicative working style with a high level of engagement and reliability
