About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Polymer Chemist to lead our synthesis laboratory in the field of organic polymer chemistry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the disciplinary and technical management and development of laboratory staff, as well as the management and coordination of national and international development projects in cross-functional and cross-site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of a synthesis laboratory in the field of organic polymer chemistry
- Management and coordination of national and international development projects
- Development of new products with a focus on sustainable concepts
- Improvement of existing products in close cooperation with customers and internal/external partners
- Closely collaborate with application engineering, production, product management, regulatory guidance, patent department, marketing, and supply chain management
- Independent literature and patent analysis, documentation of development results
- Processing and presentation of results at internal and external events
- Participation in digitalization initiatives of the business unit
Requirements
- Successfully completed university studies in chemistry and doctorate in organic or macromolecular chemistry
- Experience in polymer chemistry, ideally at least 2 years of professional experience in the relevant fields of activity
- Detailed understanding of chemical structures, broad knowledge of chemical synthesis, and knowledge of current analytical methods for structure elucidation
- Experience in leading and motivating employees
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
- Convincing appearance with very good communication and cooperation skills
- Customer orientation, independent, goal-oriented, and reliable way of working, characterized by a strong sense of responsibility, creative, and interdisciplinary thinking
