About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Oversight Consultant to join our team at Great Lakes Insurance SE. As a key member of our Underwriting team, you will play a critical role in supporting the oversight of our outsourced underwriting activities and controls over the value chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the oversight of underwriting outsourced activities and controls over the value chain (underwriting/pricing/product design)
  • Work with the team to act as the interface between the Underwriting and Products team and the business units in relation to Delegated Authority business, including support and coordination of product development, data requirements, policy design, and regulatory feedback
  • Support the measurement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the underwriting oversight framework
  • Support the assessment of adequacy of underwriting processes and controls to ensure underwriting operational risks are within risk appetite level and meet regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quarterly meetings with business units to discuss current performance and set up periodical performance reviews
  • Collaborate in meetings with Great Lakes stakeholders and outsourced parties to review/redesign underwriting oversight activities
Requirements
  • Experience in Underwriting and Product management, and/or Audit, Operational Risk Management, or similar areas; a degree in one of those areas is beneficial
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and/or similar dashboards and exposure analytics tools
  • Ideal knowledge of the Munich Re Group organization
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact in Group project teams and cross-divisional project teams in a dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication in German and English
