Senior Unreal Engine Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Unreal Engine Developer to join our team at THQ Nordic. As a key member of our game development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality game features using Unreal Engine 4.

About the Role:

  • Collaborate with designers, producers, artists, and the audio team to bring the game vision to life.
  • Support art and gameplay features, and create sustainable workflows.
  • Understand and articulate the trade-offs between technical and design choices, and solve for the best player experience.
  • Work with production staff and other leads to establish engineering tasks and schedule requirements.
  • Establish coding standards and maintain efficient coding practices.
  • Evaluate and mentor other programmers on the team with less Unreal Engine experience.
  • Provide critical analysis of technology and development practices to improve game quality, team efficiency, and the work environment.
  • Drive the company's technological vision and perform research to acquire necessary knowledge.
  • Maintain familiarity with current game and system designs, as well as emerging technologies.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong programming skills.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4.
  • Familiarity with PC and Console development best practices.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical developers.
  • C++ Expert.
  • Previous leadership/mentorship experience or leadership interest and potential.
  • Passion for real-time strategy and/or roleplaying games is welcomed.
  • Authorized to work in Germany/E.U.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Positive attitude.
