Division Lead Materials for Additive Manufacturing

The Munich Institute of Integrated Materials, Energy and Process Engineering (MEP) at the Technical University of Munich is seeking a highly motivated researcher in the field of Materials for Additive Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent research in the fields of alloy design, materials qualification, and multi-material AM
  • Establish an institutional AM alliance between TUM and industry
  • Solicit third-party funds for research projects
  • Teach courses in additive manufacturing
  • Communicate with industry networks, academic partners, and politics

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, Physics, or comparable fields
  • Proven background in additive manufacturing using directed energy deposition
  • Experience in multi-material AM and materials characterization is recommended
  • Several years of professional experience in industry is strongly recommended
  • Previous postdoctoral experience is favorable
