About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Large Space Structures GmbH. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative solutions for our space technology projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement design concepts for space systems and structures
  • Create detailed CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets technical and schedule requirements
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical input to improve design efficiency
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure timely delivery of components
  • Take ownership of design documentation and configuration control using SolidWorks PDM
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or similar field
  • At least 5 years of experience in design engineering for European space projects
  • Excellent English skills (oral and written), German is beneficial but not necessary
  • Eligible to work in EU without restriction
  • Ability to learn quickly and use initiative to understand complex designs
  • Experience in mechanical design of structures, including composite materials and metal components
  • Strong understanding of technical drawing and DIN standards
  • Excellent technical reporting skills
