Job Title: Research Scientist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the Institute of Chemical Reaction Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, constructing, and assembling measurement cells for various spectroscopic methods, coupling these cells with a catalytic profile reactor, and automating the setup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and development of measurement cells for infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and powder X-ray diffraction
- Coupling of measurement cells with a catalytic profile reactor
- Automation of the setup
- Conducting measurements on suitable test reactions and data analysis
- Publication of research results in peer-reviewed journals and at national and international conferences
Requirements:
- Completed scientific university studies in chemistry, physics, materials science, chemical engineering, or process engineering
- Knowledge in heterogeneous catalysis, chemical kinetics, online gas analysis, IR and Raman spectroscopy, XRD
- Strong interest in scientific work and motivation to work independently and goal-oriented on fundamental research questions
- Teamwork ability, cooperation, high flexibility, commitment, and resilience
- Creativity and skills in the conception, construction, and development of experimental setups
- Willingness to participate in university teaching
- Outside of duties, further scientific training is possible, and the results can be used for a dissertation
