We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the characterization of neutral beams in terms of injected power, beam geometry, and composition using all available diagnostic information and integrated data analysis techniques.
Key Responsibilities:- Beam Characterization: Develop and implement advanced data analysis techniques to provide accurate beam characterization on a shot-to-shot basis.
- NBI Parameter Variations: Investigate the effect of NBI parameter variations on the Tokamak plasma and compare with simulations using established codes.
- Research Proposals: Contribute to the broader ASDEX Upgrade physics program through own research proposals, focusing on areas such as neutral beam current drive or fast particle physics.
- NBI System Operation: Participate in the daily operation of the NBI system on the ASDEX Upgrade and support the proponents of ASDEX Upgrade discharges in the optimal use of NBI.
