About the Role

The ZEISS Group is seeking a highly skilled Application Specialist/Developer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions that meet the needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop ServiceNow applications and modules to support business processes and requirements.
  • Implement technical solutions and changes in accordance with agreed-upon requirements, taking into account connected systems, interfaces, and dependencies.
  • Ensure the creation of concepts and the execution of developer tests and integration tests as part of solution implementation.
  • Ensure the handover of developed solutions to subsequent departments (testing, training, requesters).
  • Perform and, if necessary, control support (including hypercare) after production deployment.
  • Ensure the creation of content and system documentation.
  • Responsible for the execution of individual projects within the IT Service Management Tools.
  • Responsible for the execution of sub-projects in projects that affect IT Service Management Tools.
  • Ensure the contract- and requirement-compliant operation of the managed applications.
  • Ensure trouble-free adjustments (release-upgrade) or changes to productive solutions.
  • Ensure system functionality (including interfaces) in the quality environment for non-regression tests.
  • Analyze complex errors/ faults, including debugging and error correction, as well as advising Application Specialists on error analysis and correction.
  • Analyze and solve faults in 2nd level A and B support (if necessary, control external support analysts).
  • Perform (release) upgrades or changes to the productive solution.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in a relevant field (full-stack development) > 3 years.
  • Typically, a completed degree in computer science.
  • ITIL Foundation Level certification.
  • Comprehensive technical/factual knowledge of the managed systems/applications (ServiceNow).
  • Comprehensive programming knowledge (JavaScript) in particular object-oriented programming.
  • Knowledge of software architectures.
  • Solution competence.
  • Very good German/English skills in word and writing.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Very good understanding ability.
