Technical Sales Representative Engineered Valves

Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills. As a Technical Sales Representative, you will be responsible for promoting and selling Pure-Flo and EnviZion (PF) products directly in the BioPharm market. This will involve working with distributors, representatives, OEMs, and Engineering Firms (A&Es) to increase sales and discover new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Use persuasion, logic, and product expertise to promote and sell valves/products to end users, Engineering companies (A&E accounts), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), and distributors.
- Build customer intimacy with key accounts.
- Maintain, develop, and expand the distribution network in the territory.
- Build firm relationships with OEM customers.
- Discover and work on new CAPEX-projects to get ITT valves specified and installed.
- Responsible for the entire sales process, from lead generation until aftermarket support in the region.
- Maintain an up-to-date territory plan and work accordingly.
- Travel nationally and internationally approximately 60% of the time to visit key accounts and distributors to achieve intimate customer contacts.
- Perform specification work for day-to-day business and on projects with A&Es, OEMs, and End-Users.
- Conduct product information seminars and training for end users, A&E accounts, distributors, and representatives. Assist distributors and representatives' sales personnel in making sales calls and securing orders for ITT products.
- Provide ITT with detailed information on the competitive landscape in the territory.
- Maintain reports for active projects and opportunities and support monthly reporting and forecasting process in a timely manner.
- Communicate extensively with direct supervisor on all customers, sales channels, and company matters.
- Maintain up-to-date distributor/representative sales action plans, monitor, and report progress towards goals.
- Report to and follow the directions given by the Sales Director EMEA, India & APAC.
Requirements
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business, Marketing, or 7 years of experience in the BioPharm industry. Candidates with at least 5 years of outside diaphragm valve sales experience in BioPharm are preferred. Candidates with good experience in channel management, other valve types (or related products), and/or other capital equipment will be considered.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. The candidate must be fluent in German and English (verbally and in writing).
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computing Skills
Ability to effectively utilize word processing software, spreadsheets, and to navigate and use other custom applications software in a MS Windows environment.
