Job Title: Head Pastry Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team at a 5* Hotel in Füssen, Bavaria, Germany.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. This includes preparing a wide variety of goods, developing new recipes, and coordinating activities of pastry chefs and workers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality products.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items, ensuring they meet the hotel's culinary standards.
  • Coordinate activities of pastry chefs and workers, ensuring smooth workflow and effective communication.
  • Monitor and control inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health and safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Supervise and train pastry chefs and workers, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the hotel's standards.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and implement new menu items and promotions.
  • Monitor and control labor costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Requirements:
  • 4 years of experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or 2 years experience as a Head Pastry Chef in a 4* or 5* hotel or fine dining restaurant.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, evenings, and on occasion, early mornings.
  • Excellent knowledge of the pastry and bakery section, with a passion for innovation and creativity.
  • Fluency in English or German, with the ability to communicate effectively with the team and guests.
