Rotating/Gear Box and Others Inspector

We are seeking a skilled Rotating/Gear Box and Others Inspector to join our team at Intertek. As a freelancer, you will be responsible for performing inspections at local manufacturers in the Hamburg area.

Scope:

Ensure all assignment instructions received for inspection assignments are performed competently and at the times required.

Functions:

  • Internally: Operations Manager - Coordinators - Technical Manager
  • Externally: Suppliers - Clients

Tasks:

  • Review assignment instructions for adequacy and practicality.
  • Attend pre-production and other meetings as required.
  • Liaise with clients and others as relevant in the determination of inspection stages and requirements.
  • Inspect drawings, designs, and specifications for piping, valves, pressure vessels, and other relevant mechanical equipment.
  • Visit manufacturers, suppliers, installers, and others as necessary to perform or witness inspections.
  • Provide reports of inspections performed or witnessed in good time.
  • Ensure all inspection and related activities are performed in accordance with requirements as defined in Intertek work instructions and procedures.
  • Adapt and use new implemented technologies within the Intertek group.

Competences and Experiences:

A minimum of 5 years employed by manufacturer(s) or constructor(s) of the type of products or materials to be inspected. Such employment to be in all areas of such organizations in which knowledge of the manufacturing, inspection, and related processes would be gained.

Valid Driver's License, Good Communication skills, and Language capability - English language is mandatory.

Preferred qualifications include European Welding Engineer or National equivalent, ISO 9712 or ASNT qualifications, NACE CIP Level 2 or FROSIO, and ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor.

Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Systems:

Be aware of company policies and procedures with respect to Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental issues. Ensure the implementation of company policies/procedures and any applicable legislative regulations with respect to OHSAS and Environment.
